Country music star Kenny Chesney is ready for a 2-night performance in Vegas at The Joint on Friday, April 19th & Saturday, April 20th. Kenny released his first album In My Wildest Dreams in 1994 and sold approximately 10,000 copies. Fast-forwarding to the present, Kenny will be releasing his sixth studio album Life on a Rock later this month; the album single is entitled “Pirate Flag.” Kenny has always remained in the country fans spotlight throughout his musical career. He has performed hundreds of concerts, embarked on over ten concert tours and has racked up some prestigious awards coveted by country music artists. Selecting the best of Kenny’s songs would be a difficult task as he has had many great hits from each of his albums. New Yorker native with Puerto Rican and Dominican heritage singer Romeo Santos will be taking over The Joint, Hard Rock Hotel on April 14th and you can be sure he will be showcasing his best Bachata dance moves. Although Romeo produces Merengue and Reggeton music as well, he is best known for being the leading artist to popularize Bachata music with a new creative spin. As the former lead singer of the Bachata musical group Aventura, Romeo performs what is now the new sound of Bachata as he intermixed the genre with Hip-Hop and R&B. The group’s #1 song “Obsesion” is still played on the radio and remains one of the best Bachata songs of its time. As a solo artist, he went on to produce chart-topping songs such as “You,” and “Promise” featuring Usher. He is a Grammy nominated music artist ready to spread more Latin culture and sounds to the city of Las Vegas. The diversity of music and culture is an amazing thing we have in the states and to experience one of the greatest Latin talents you simply cannot miss this concert! Benji Madden will take over Gallery Nightclub, Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino on April 13th in a special DJ set. Benji is a guitarist and vocalist for the rock band Good Charlotte which he founded with his brother, Joel Madden. He has several music projects which he has completed with both his brother and the band. He has seven album releases and has provided vocals for a multitude of songs collaborating with fellow musicians such as Three 6 Mafia, Kill Hannah and Sean Kingston. In addition to his music, Benji has appeared in both film and television with his most recent projects being 6 Beers of Separation, Australian Idol and The Electric Company. Benji has also judged for the 10th annual Independent Music Awards (2011), won a boxing match against MTV and VH1 host Riki Rachtman (2010) and launched a clothing line DCMA Collective (2006). Now this multi-talented entertainer will be front and center at one of Vegas’ hottest nightclubs to make party goers “go wild” on the dance floor. Indie rock band Vampire Weekend will perform live at the Boulevard Pool, Cosmopolitan Hotel on April 12th. The band released there debut album Vampire Weekend in 2008 and their music has quickly become well known since that time. Hit singles from the album include “Mansard Roof,” “Oxford Comma” and “The Kids Don’t Stand a Chance.” The album held a top 20 spot on the US and UK charts along with number 24 on Rolling Stone’s list of 100 greatest debut albums of all time. As you can see the band made quite an entrance onto the indie rock scene. Now fast forward five years later to today and the band is still going strong, due to drop their third studio album, Modern Vampires of the City in May 2013. In addition, the band had their second studio album Contra nominated for a Grammy Award, performed at various music festivals to include Coachella, SXSW and All Points West and toured throughout the US, UK, Canada and Australia promoting their music while increasing their fan base along the way. Hey 90′s babies…Do you remember “ice, ice, baby?” If so, then you definitely know who Vanilla Ice is. Vanilla Ice is definitely a legendary hip-hop rapper of the early 90’s and on April 13th he will be taking over LAX Nightclub. Reviving old-school hip-hop and transporting us back to a time of grunge-style flannels and big hair, Vanilla Ice is sure to evoke a “deja vu” moment for party-goers. His most popular track “Ice ice baby” really put his name on the music charts, however, he does have other great hits such as “Cool as Ice” and “Play that funky music.” To The Extreme was his major label debut album and reports say it became the fastest-selling hip-hop album of all time. WTF – Wisdom, Tenacity & Focus (2011) is Vanilla Ice’s most recent album which means there is a chance that he may perform hits from this album for the crowd. He is a comedian, radio personality, actor, television host and the man behind the Neighborhood Awards. The Neighborhood Awards weekend will kick off on August 9th for 3 days at both MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay resorts. The Neighborhood Awards formerly known as the “Hoodie Awards” will take place on August 10th. The Neighborhood Awards recognizes the accomplishments and contributions of both individuals and small businesses in urban areas across the United States. Individuals recognized include high school teachers, coaches and community leaders. Businesses include barber shops, beauty salons, nail salons, soul food and barbecue restaurants, high schools, churches and car washes. Members of the community nominate and vote on their favorites for a Neighborhood Award. Celebrities come out to present the awards on show night and to pay tribute to the winners.
