Kendrick Lamar Live with Ab-Soul and Jay Rock
The mixtape rapper of “Overly Dedicated” Kendrick Lamar will be collaborating with label mates, Jay Rock and Ab-Soul in a concert at Hard Rock Cafe on October 19th. The three hip hop artists go way back as 2007, when they found themselves signed to the same record label, Top Dawg Entertainment. In 2009, hip hop supergroup Black Hippy was formed which included all three West coast rappers plus Schoolboy Q. Like many famous rappers, each recording artists’ journey started with a mixtape that went viral. And although Kendrick, Ab-Soul, and Jay Rock are in a rap group together, each member still has their solo music journey, producing mixtapes and albums. In 2011, Kendrick released his first independent album, Section 80, exclusively through iTunes. Jay Rock’s mixtape Black Friday was released December 2010 on iTunes and following was the release of his debut album Follow Me Home in the Summer of 2011. Ab-Soul released his first independent album, Longterm Mentality, also exclusively through iTunes in April 2011. Today, the three have had their taste of fame and have gained fans worldwide. These West coasters continue to produce chart topping hits and have many performances scheduled in the months to come. This is one concert that you do not want to miss as it is sure to be off the chains! Get your tickets today.
